Frequently asked questions

Questions before you start.

I’m new to lifting, or haven’t trained in years. Is this too advanced for me?

Beginners and women returning after a break are welcome. You don’t need previous gym experience.

I’m over 60. Will I fit in?

The Evolved trains women over 60, including women starting strength training for the first time. Tell the coach about your experience and any concerns at the assessment. They can explain how the exercises and training demands would be adapted for you.

Will someone show me what to do in a group session?

Yes. Coaches help you learn the exercises, choose an appropriate challenge and adjust movements to your current ability.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit is a Strength Assessment with a coach. You’ll discuss your training history, goals and concerns, and work through a guided strength and movement check. The coach then explains the training options and answers your questions. The Evolved advertises this as a one-hour appointment. Confirm what to bring when booking.

Can I come and look around before joining?

Visits are by appointment; The Evolved doesn’t offer casual drop-ins. Join the waitlist and the team will contact you when a Strength Assessment is available. Joining the waitlist doesn’t commit you to a membership.

What if I have an old injury or ongoing pain?

Raise it with the team before starting so they can discuss your needs and whether their coaching is suitable. The Evolved says it can modify training where appropriate and work alongside advice from your treating practitioner, with your permission. If you need clinical assessment, the team will direct you to an appropriate health professional.

Is help with food included?

The Smart Meal Plan in Trainerize provides meal ideas, recipes and grocery guidance. A trainer can show you where to find it. Personalised nutrition coaching and ongoing check-ins aren’t included.
